In a stellar performance, actor Cillian Murphy captivated audiences with his portrayal of American Physicist J Oppenheimer, earning him the prestigious Best Actor Oscar.
Alongside him, Emma Stone dazzled as Bella Baxter in Poor Things, claiming the Best Actress award, while Robert Downey Jr. secured his maiden Oscar win for his role in Oppenheimer as US official Lewis Strauss.
India made its mark on the global stage as a thrilling action scene from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR found a place in the Academy Awards montage, paying tribute to stunt coordinators.
The inclusion drew praise from fans and industry insiders alike, showcasing the growing influence of Indian cinema on the world stage.
Poor Things emerged as a formidable contender, clinching awards for Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup and Hair.
Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell added to the night’s accolades with the Best Original Song award for What Was I Made For? from Barbie, while Oppenheimer secured the Best Original Score honour.
While India’s official entry, 2018: Everyone Is A Hero, failed to secure a nomination, To Kill A Tiger garnered recognition as a contender for Best Documentary Feature.
However, it ultimately lost to 20 Days In Mariupol.
Despite notable snubs for Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, and Leonardo DiCaprio, the ceremony saw deserving winners across various categories, with standout performances and technical achievements celebrated on Hollywood’s grandest stage.
