GUWAHATI: Adding yet another remarkable role to his versatile filmography, acclaimed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to play the notorious Assamese judge Upendra Nath Rajkhowa in his next film.
This has been confirmed by his brother Faizuddin Siddiqui, who is also producing the film.
Amid all the speculations, Faizuddin Siddiqui has confirmed the making of the film, which will explore the chilling events that led to Rajkhowa’s arrest and subsequent execution for the horrific murder of his family members, a crime that sent shockwaves through Assam.
The film aims to delve into the intricate psychological depth and complexities of Rajkhowa’s character.
He expressed immense fascination with the story and was eager to be involved in such a project. “I decided to produce the film under my banner, and who better to portray the Assamese judge Upendra Nath Rajkhowa than my brother Nawazuddin Siddiqui?” he said.
The actor has always proved his acting dexterity and versatility by essaying challenging roles in films such as Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Manto, and Thackeray.
With this film, Nawazuddin will continue to amaze audiences with his portrayal of another controversial historical figure.
Besides, the actor will be seen in films such as Oil Kumar, Adbhut, Noorani Chehra, and Sangeen.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s latest release ‘Rautu Ka Raaz,‘ premiered on an OTT platform on June 28. Directed by Anand Surapur, this mystery drama features a stellar cast including Atul Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar, and Narayani Shastri, and has already garnered significant attention from viewers.
As Nawazuddin prepares for this challenging role, anticipation grows for his portrayal of Upendra Nath Rajkhowa, a figure whose actions left an indelible mark on Assamese history.
