Chennai: Renowned music composer AR Rahman was briefly hospitalised on Sunday at Apollo Hospital in Chennai after experiencing symptoms of dehydration and neck pain, reportedly due to recent travel.
Following a routine medical check-up, the Oscar-winning maestro was discharged the same day.
A medical bulletin from Apollo Hospital confirmed Rahman’s visit, stating, “AR Rahman visited Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road this morning with dehydration symptoms and was discharged after a routine check-up.”
His team clarified that his condition was not related to chest pain, as speculated in certain reports, but rather a result of travel-induced dehydration and neck discomfort.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin provided an update on Rahman’s health, expressing relief over his recovery.
Taking to Twitter, Stalin wrote, “As soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal @arrahman had been admitted to the hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his health. They said he is fine and will be back home soon! Happy!”
Rahman’s team also dismissed rumours about his health, categorically labelling claims of heart issues as “fake news.”
