In a jubilant homecoming, the 71st Miss World competition has returned to India after a hiatus of 28 years.
Promising a month-long extravaganza replete with glamour, talent, and philanthropy, the event has drawn 120 contestants from around the world, each poised to make their mark on the global stage.
The participants gathered at the Hotel Ashoka in Delhi on February 20, after which they paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at Rajghat.
In a poignant tribute, they honoured Gandhi’s ideals of truth, nonviolence, and social justice, which resonate deeply with the Miss World Organization’s theme of “Beauty with a Purpose”.
Among the luminaries gracing the occasion was Julia Morley, the Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization.
Leading the charge for India in 2024 is the illustrious Sini Shetty, the reigning Femina Miss India World 2022.
With the Tricolour held aloft, she embodies the essence of Indian beauty, culture, and tradition, poised to captivate hearts and minds on the international stage.
Over the ensuing weeks, participants will immerse themselves in a plethora of activities, challenges, and charitable endeavours, showcasing not only their beauty and elegance but also their intelligence, compassion, and commitment to social causes.
Adding an extra layer of glamour to the proceedings is renowned fashion designer Archana Kochhar, named the official fashion designer for the pageant.
Expressing her elation at the opportunity to collaborate with such a prestigious platform, Kochhar shared her excitement on social media, thanking Morley for the honour.
As anticipation mounts, all eyes are set on the grand finale, scheduled to unfold at the illustrious Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on March 9.
