Renowned cricketer MS Dhoni, known for his on-field prowess and off-field charm, recently caused a stir on social media with his latest stylish transformation.
The former Chennai Super Kings captain unveiled a striking long hairdo, captivating fans and followers ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Netizens were quick to shower adoration on Dhoni’s vintage yet modern look, which was crafted by celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim.
Hakim, a veteran in the hairstyling industry with over three decades of experience, speaking about his experience styling the cricketing icon, likened Dhoni to a Hollywood star, highlighting his cool and charismatic aura.
He also praised Dhoni’s graciousness in sparing time for impromptu photoshoots after the makeover.
“In my mind, Dhoni is no less than a Hollywood actor. I always visualise him as a star, as a cool guy,” said Aalim in an interview with a digital media outlet.
“Whenever there’s an ad film shoot happening, I always request him to let me record him or do some photoshoots from my phone. And he is very courteous to give me time,” Hakim added.
Reflecting on the overwhelming response to Dhoni’s new look, Hakim expressed amazement at the universal adoration for the cricketer.
“I have never seen people not liking anything about Mahi. People just love him,” he remarked. “So, if he shaved off his head, that will become a fashion,” he added.
Meanwhile, speculations loom over Dhoni’s future in cricket, with hints that IPL 2024 could mark his final appearance on the field.
Dhoni previously hinted that his farewell game would be in Chennai, coincidentally aligning with the IPL 2024 finals scheduled to be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Having already relinquished the captaincy position at CSK, Dhoni is scripting his own climactic exit from the cricketing arena.
