American rock band Linkin Park marked its long-awaited debut in Mumbai with a high-energy performance at Lollapalooza India 2026, thanking fans for their years of patience and unwavering support as thousands gathered at Mahalaxmi Racecourse on Sunday night.
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as fans chanted the band’s name moments before the group took the stage for a nearly two-hour set that blended nostalgia with renewed momentum.
Linkin Park powered through a lineup of their most celebrated tracks, including “Somewhere I Belong”, “In the End” and “Heavy Is The Crown”, drawing loud singalongs from the crowd.
The six-member lineup—Mike Shinoda, Emily Armstrong, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell and Colin Brittain—also performed fan favourites such as “Numb”, “Crawling”, “What I’ve Done” and “The Emptiness Machine”, reinforcing the band’s enduring connection with listeners across generations.
Addressing the audience, Shinoda expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans for standing by the band over the years, particularly during its recent phase.
Wearing an Assamese gamusa around his neck, he thanked the crowd for embracing their new music and for consistently calling for the band to perform in India.
The concert drew fans of all age groups, many of whom sang along to every word.
Social media was soon flooded with reactions, with one attendee writing on X that the sheer energy of the show left them barely able to walk afterward.
Another fan described Linkin Park as a band that had helped an entire generation navigate confusion and emotional struggles, calling the concert a moment of collective healing.
However, not all reactions were uniformly positive. A Reddit user compared the Mumbai performance with the band’s earlier Bengaluru show and described the Lollapalooza set as comparatively restrained, suggesting it felt more mechanical than expected.

The Mumbai concert followed Linkin Park’s performance in Bengaluru as part of their From Zero World Tour.
The band had largely stepped away from live performances after the death of frontman Chester Bennington in 2017, before making a comeback in 2024 with a new vocalist.
Day two of Lollapalooza India 2026 also featured performances by international and Indian artists, including Kehlani, LANY, Sammy Virji, Calum Scott, Karsh Kale, Kabeer Kathpalia (OAFF) and Savera Mehta, adding to the festival’s diverse musical lineup.
