Manasi Ghosh, who hails from Kolkata, was crowned the winner of Indian Idol 15 on Sunday.
The 24-year-old lifted the Indian Idol season 15 trophy and bagged a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh along with a brand new car. She defeated Shubhojit Chakraborty and Sneha Shankar in the Indian Idol finale.
Before participating in Indian Idol, Manasi honed her skills through multiple stage performances. Her passion for music brought her to the Indian Idol stage, where she quickly rose to fame. She managed to impress judges throughout the season through her versatility and consistency.
Manasi, who credited her mother for encouraging her to pursue music, shared, “My family was here for the finale. They were crying and cheering. I was blank, not knowing initially how to react. But all of us are really happy. Life has changed in a good way. It’s a national platform, so I got a lot of love and blessings from all over.”
Manasi’s musical career began way before her Indian Idol stint. She participated in several singing competitions and kept improving with every performance. Her ability to emotionally connect to the audience through singing sets her apart from other contestants.
She also participated in ‘Superstar Singer Season 3’ where she was the first runner-up of the show.
Indian Idol 15 was judged by Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah.
When asked which judge’s feedback mattered to her the most, Manasi Ghosh said, “I always looked up to Badshah Sir and Vishal Sir. Shreya Mam was also very sweet and elaborate on her comments which I loved, but Vishal sir was straightforward and on the face. Whenever he was impressed, he would be the first one to give me a standing ovation.”
After winning Indian Idol season 15, Manasi has unlocked many new opportunities in the music industry.

She revealed that she has already recorded her first Bollywood song in a duet alongside famous singers Lalit Pandit and Shaan. This song will be featured in an upcoming movie, marking her playback debut in Bollywood music.
She added, “This show has taught me to both learn and unlearn. Even if you get bad comments, you cannot carry that to your next performance. You have to forget everything that happens and focus on the work.”
