New Delhi: Bengaluru-based rapper and singer Hanumankind, renowned for hits like Big Dawgs and Run It Up, made his debut at the iconic Coachella music festival in 2025, joining the ranks of Indian artists who have graced the prestigious stage.
Performing on Saturday night (8:25 PM PST/9 AM IST), the artist, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, delivered a high-energy set featuring a blend of new and classic tracks.
His performance began with a captivating introduction by chenda drummers, setting the tone for a show steeped in cultural and musical fusion.
Accompanied by drummer Sange Wangchuk and guitarist Krishna M. Sujith, Hanumankind performed hits like Go To Sleep and Rush Hour, along with unreleased material featuring Houston-based rapper Maxo Kream.
Despite battling a fever, he pushed through the set, addressing the audience about his excitement for his first full U.S. performance.
“I couldn’t come this far and not bring you a gift from India,” he remarked before bringing back the chenda drummers for a raw, percussion-heavy rendition of Run It Up.
