Hollywood legend Helen Mirren has playfully suggested conducting a DNA test to see if she shares a familial connection with Harrison Ford, her co-star in the hit Western drama 1923.
In a chat with People magazine, Mirren spoke about her bond with Ford, describing it as something almost inexplicably deep.
“Harrison and I have this weird connection. It’s like meeting your best friend from college after 30 years and picking up exactly where you left off—but even better,” she shared.
Jokingly, she added, “Maybe we should do a DNA test. Perhaps we’re siblings, or cousins, or something like that.”
Ford joined in on the light-hearted banter, calling the situation “bizarre” but agreeing that their on-screen chemistry felt natural.
Reflecting on their shared history, he said, “We first worked together on The Mosquito Coast nearly 40 years ago. To reconnect now and work on 1923 feels like fate. Some actors just click—it’s like perfect casting.”

1923, a prequel to the critically acclaimed Yellowstone series, explores the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family during a turbulent era marked by Prohibition, drought, and the Great Depression’s early impact.
The show has been lauded for its storytelling and the compelling performances of its lead actors, including Mirren and Ford.
This marks a remarkable reunion for the two stars, whose camaraderie, both on and off-screen, has added an extra layer of authenticity to their roles in the series.
