Jaipur: Rajasthan Police have filed an FIR against Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and several others following allegations of cheating linked to a Hyundai Alcazar vehicle purchased in 2022.
The complaint, lodged at Mathura Gate police station in Bharatpur by 50-year-old advocate Kirti Singh, claims he bought the SUV from a Sonipat dealership for Rs. 23.97 lakh.
Soon after, the car allegedly developed major technical glitches, particularly during acceleration and overtaking.
“The vehicle vibrates, struggles to pick up speed, and repeatedly displays an engine malfunction alert. This has endangered my life and that of my family multiple times,” Singh stated.
He further alleged that the dealership admitted the issue was a manufacturing defect but offered only temporary solutions.

Despite repeated complaints, the problem persisted, causing “financial, physical and mental distress” while he continued paying the car loan.
The FIR names Hyundai brand ambassadors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, accusing them along with the company and its dealers of concealing known defects.
Singh claimed this amounts to cheating, criminal breach of trust and conspiracy.
Police confirmed that the case has been registered under relevant IPC sections and said investigations are underway.
