The first look of Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar’ was unveiled recently. The film, helmed by Aditya Dhar, is touted to be an action-packed drama.
On the actor’s birthday on Sunday (July 6), the makers of Dhurandhar gifted fans the much-awaited first-look video of the film.
The intense clip showcases Ranveer in a somber, menacing avatar, fully geared up for revenge.
As he takes on enemies with swift and brutal moves, the film’s impressive ensemble cast featuring Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal also make their presence felt.
In the intense 2-minute-40-second clip, Ranveer, with long hair, a thick beard, and a cigarette in hand, looks menacing. He is seen working at a restaurant, seemingly lying low before springing into action.
He delivers intense lines like, “Ghayal hoon isliye Ghatak hoon.” The video escalates with a barrage of violent scenes, including one particularly brutal moment where a group of men pushes another man into boiling hot water.
Sara Arjun stars opposite Ranveer Singh in the film. In the first-look video, she’s seen dancing in a club, riding pillion with Ranveer, and sharing a dance with him.
Sanjay Dutt also sports a rugged look, matching Ranveer’s intense vibe. Akshaye Khanna appears in a Pathani suit, playing the lead antagonist in Aditya Dhar’s film. R. Madhavan, who lends his voice for the narration, looks unrecognisable, seemingly portraying an officer. Arjun Rampal debuts a gritty new look, featuring a golden tooth, a thick grey beard, and raw, intense expressions.
Dhurandhar marks Ranveer’s return to a lead role after a two-year gap. He was last seen playing the lead in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He also made a cameo appearance in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which was released in 2024.
Prior to Rocky Aur Rani, Ranveer faced a rough patch at the box office with underperforming films like Cirkus (2022) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022). However, with Dhurandhar’s high-intensity teaser and powerful ensemble, this could be Ranveer’s big comeback moment.
While rumours have surfaced that the story of the film draws inspiration from the life of Indian super spy and NSA Ajit Doval, known for his role in the surgical strike, the makers have remained tight-lipped about the plot.
