Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar has emerged as a major streaming success, clinching the No. 1 position on Netflix’s global Top 10 non-English films chart while also leading the platform’s movie rankings in Pakistan.
According to Netflix’s Tudum weekly chart for January 26–February 1, the Ranveer Singh-starrer recorded 7.6 million views to top the global non-English films list.
The film also secured the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies list in Pakistan — a significant achievement given that Indian films do not receive theatrical releases in the country and the film deals with cross-border terrorism themes.
Released theatrically on December 5, Dhurandhar went on to become a box-office blockbuster, earning over Rs. 1,300 crore worldwide. It began streaming on Netflix from January 30.
Set largely in Karachi’s Lyari area — known for its history of gang conflicts — the film traces covert intelligence operations against the backdrop of major geopolitical and terror-related incidents, including the Kandahar hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sara Arjun.
The film has also performed strongly across South Asia, trending in markets such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Despite not being released in several Gulf countries due to its alleged anti-Pakistan narrative, Dhurandhar has charted prominently in the region, ranking No. 1 in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, No. 4 in Kuwait, and No. 6 in Saudi Arabia, according to Netflix data.
In Pakistan, the Top 10 movies list is currently dominated by Indian titles, including Tere Ishk Mein, Haq, De De Pyaar De 2, Mardaani 2, Mardaani and Jolly LLB 3.
Meanwhile, the franchise is set to expand with the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
The sequel will continue the story of Ranveer Singh’s character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi — also known as Hamza Ali Mazari — tracing his evolution from spy to gangster while exploring his backstory.
The film is produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under B62 Studios in collaboration with Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.
