A case has been filed against Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan in Raipur Court for featuring in misleading advertisements.
Advocate Faizan Khan filed the case, and the court immediately took cognizance of the matter.
Faizan Khan, who was previously arrested for allegedly threatening film star Shah Rukh Khan, issued notices to Shah Rukh and five other individuals for creating and broadcasting misleading advertisements, asking them to appear for a hearing on March 29.
Faizan has objected to the Pathaan actor featuring in misleading advertisements of Vimal Pan Masala, Fair and Handsome, and Online Rummy.
Moreover, companies including Google India, Amazon Prime, Netflix, ITC Limited have also become respondents in the case and notices have been issued to them.
Earlier this month, SRK was issued a legal notice for featuring in advertisements of a pan masala brand and endorsing the product alongside Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn.
He was issued a notice by Jaipur’s district consumer disputes redressal forum, asking him to appear before them for an alleged misleading advertisement of the Vimal Pan Masala, which claims each grain of pan masala contains saffron or kesar. The ad tagline says, “dane dane mein hai kesar ka dum” (each grain has strength of saffron).
On March 11, Faizan Khan, through his advocate Virat Verma, filed an application in the court of Judicial Magistrate Preeti Kujur.
It stated that Shah Rukh Khan is misleading the general public through deceptive advertisements.
He claimed that these advertisements are misguiding the youth and children of the country, leading to an increase in problems like cancer and poverty.
