New Delhi: In a rare and nostalgic moment for Bollywood fans, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan shared the stage at the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday — reflecting on their stardom, camaraderie, and hinting at the possibility of finally working together in a film.

The three icons, who have dominated Hindi cinema for over three decades, spoke candidly about their journeys, fame, and what keeps them grounded.

Salman, with his trademark wit, said none of them consider themselves “stars” in the conventional sense. “None of us call ourselves stars.

At home, I still get yelled at by my parents,” he said, crediting directors, cinematographers, writers, and audiences for their success.

Shah Rukh, who turns 60 on November 2, said their lasting stardom comes from an “emotional connect” with fans that transcends generations.

“Aamir is extremely organised, Salman works straight from the heart, and I try to balance both. Maybe it’s our culture, but our stories and emotions connect with people across boundaries,” he said, adding that his goal remains to “serve the audience” with gratitude and joy.

Aamir, reflecting on destiny and timing, said their rise to superstardom was shaped by fortune as much as hard work.

“Perhaps all three of us were lucky to be born in India, where we could be part of Hindi cinema. Being at the right place at the right time matters a lot,” he said.

The trio’s easy camaraderie led to several lighthearted moments.

When Salman noted that both he and Aamir came from film families while Shah Rukh did not, SRK quipped, “Salman, I also come from a film family — because your family is mine, and so is Aamir’s,” prompting laughter and applause from the audience. Aamir added with a grin, “Now you know why Shah Rukh is a star.”

Amidst the nostalgia, the actors stirred excitement by hinting at a long-awaited collaboration.

“If the three of us come together in a film, it’ll be a dream — hopefully not a nightmare,” Shah Rukh joked.

Salman teased him to repeat his famous line that “no one can afford the three Khans in one film,” to which SRK replied, “In Saudi, they’ll just say, ‘Habibi, done!’ Affordability isn’t about money — it’s about time, eccentricities, and how we work.”

Aamir concluded by saying that all three are open to the idea, but the right story will be the deciding factor.

“We’re emotionally ready. It’s just about finding the right script,” he said.

For millions of fans, the sight of the three Khans sharing laughter and stage space rekindled hopes of seeing Bollywood’s biggest icons together on screen — a cinematic dream long in the making.
