Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner has denied allegations of harassment made by Chinese director Yi Zhou, calling them “totally inaccurate and untrue.”
Zhou, in a series of Instagram posts earlier this week, accused the Avengers star of sending her unsolicited explicit photographs and exhibiting disturbing behavior that allegedly left her fearing for her safety.
Her posts included the hashtags “#Cancel” and “#CancelJeremyRenner.”
Responding to the claims, a representative for Renner told Variety, “The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue.”
According to Zhou, she and Renner began communicating in June after he allegedly sent her “unwanted and unsolicited pornographic images” through Instagram and WhatsApp.

She further claimed that the actor manipulated her emotions, making her believe she was in a romantic relationship with him.
The filmmaker also alleged that during one encounter, Renner’s behavior became unsettling, prompting her to lock herself in a room.
Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel’s Avengers franchise, has yet to issue a personal statement beyond his representative’s denial.
The allegations continue to circulate on social media, with neither party providing additional evidence or clarification as of now.
