GUWAHATI: Guwahati-based filmmaker Kishore Kalita’s latest documentary, ‘Letters From Vietnam,’ has been officially selected for the MAX SIR International Film Festival 2024 in Costa Rica.
Following the success of his previous film, “Veerangana,” Kalita’s new documentary offers a captivating journey through Vietnam.
The documentary explores the Southeast Asian nation’s riveting landscapes, rich culture, and history. The film offers a unique perspective on Vietnamese life, showcasing its stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, and vibrant traditions.
He travelled to various regions of Vietnam, including bustling cities and serene countryside. His boat trips through the intricate network of rivers and canals provided breathtaking views of the picturesque Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Several iconic landmarks, such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the One-pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature, which offer insights into Vietnam’s rich history and cultural heritage were highlighted in the film.
Kalita’s visit to the Phu Quoc United Center, a popular tourist resort, showcased the island’s natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere.

The documentary showcases Kalita’s talent as a filmmaker, with his skillful cinematography, engaging storytelling, and thoughtful exploration of Vietnamese culture. The film’s music has been composed by Soumyarit Nag, adding depth and emotion to the narrative.
