HYDERABAD: Telugu actor Allu Arjun was detained by the police on Friday in connection with the tragic death of a woman during the premiere screening of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rise.

The incident, which took place during the film’s premiere, has sparked an investigation into the chaotic scenes that led to a stampede.

Police footage showed Arjun being escorted into a police vehicle under heavy security, as the authorities moved to address the situation.

The stampede occurred when an overwhelming crowd gathered at the theatre to catch a glimpse of the popular actor.

Reports indicate that the Telangana authorities were not notified in advance about Allu Arjun’s presence at the screening.

Although the theatre management was aware of his attendance, they failed to inform the police, resulting in a lack of sufficient security measures to control the crowd.

The absence of separate entry and exit points at the theatre further exacerbated the situation, contributing to overcrowding and chaos.

As fans surged forward to see Arjun, the situation escalated, leading to a fatal stampede.

Tragically, a woman lost her life, and a young boy sustained injuries in the chaos.

Following the tragic event, the police filed an FIR, naming Allu Arjun, his security team, and the management of Sandhya Theatre.

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and the responsibilities of those involved, including the actor’s team and the theatre management.

The tragedy has sparked public outrage, with many questioning the lack of preparedness and safety measures at the screening.

Critics have called for stricter regulations for public events involving high-profile celebrities to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The family of the deceased woman is expected to pursue legal action, and calls for compensation have grown louder in the wake of the incident.

The incident has raised important concerns regarding crowd management at public events and the need for more robust safety protocols to ensure the well-being of attendees.
