Mumbai: Popular television actor Priya Marathe, best remembered for her roles in hit shows like Pavitra Rishta and Kasamh Se, died on Sunday after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 38.
According to family sources, Marathe had been fighting the disease for over two years. She breathed her last at her residence in Mira Road, Mumbai.
Her cousin and fellow actor Subodh Bhave paid an emotional tribute on social media, recalling her dedication and resilience.
“Priya was not only a brilliant actress but also my sister. The hard work she put in after entering this industry and her unwavering faith in her craft were truly commendable,” Bhave wrote.
He also revealed how cancer affected her during the shoot of their series Tu Metshi Navane.

“She suffered a lot during filming, but her partner, Shantanu Moghe, stood by her like a rock. Priya was a fighter till the end, but her strength finally gave way. I pray she finds peace wherever she is,” his note read.
Marathe began her acting journey with the Marathi serial Char Divas Sasuche in 2011 and went on to work in numerous television dramas over two decades.
She was last seen in the 2023 Marathi show Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe. She is survived by her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe.
