Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has been honoured with the Golden Globes Horizon Award at the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Bhatt, known for films such as Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone, received the award at a special ceremony. She was honoured alongside Tunisian star Hend Sabry, who was presented with the prestigious Omar Sharif Award.
The recognition, announced by the festival on Instagram, marks a significant milestone in her international journey. Red Sea Film wrote, “We’re proud to partner with the Golden Globes Awards to honour Hind Sabri with the Omar Sharif Award and Alia Bhatt with the Golden Globe Horizon Award on the sidelines of the 5th Red Sea International Film Festival.”
The two honours recognise outstanding creative excellence across the Middle East, Asia and North Africa.
The Omar Sharif Award, named after the legendary Egyptian actor and three-time Golden Globe winner known for classics such as “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Doctor Zhivago”, recognises artists whose work reflects his enduring legacy and impact on world cinema.
The Horizon Award is presented to an emerging creative force whose rapid rise is shaping both regional and international screen culture.
