Tesla properties are facing increasing attacks, including arson and vandalism, as Elon Musk’s prominent position in Donald Trump’s second-term administration fuels outrage.
Tesla showrooms, charging stations, and vehicles have been targeted across the U.S. and abroad, with no injuries reported but significant property damage.
The attacks, including Molotov cocktails, graffiti, and gunfire, have escalated since Musk was appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), overseeing federal budget cuts.
Critics view Musk’s close alignment with Trump as a betrayal of Tesla’s earlier progressive image.
In Canada, safety concerns led to Tesla’s removal from an international auto show. Meanwhile, several incidents have been reported in left-leaning cities like Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, where anti-Musk sentiment runs high.
In one instance, four Tesla Cybertrucks were set ablaze in Seattle, and in Las Vegas, Molotov cocktails and bullets targeted Tesla vehicles.
Musk addressed the issue during a podcast appearance, blaming “left-wing organizations” for orchestrating the violence. On social media, he condemned the attacks, calling them “evil and deeply wrong.”
Some Tesla owners have resorted to bumper stickers to distance themselves from Musk, while used Cybertruck prices have dropped nearly 8% since Trump’s second term began.

The White House, labeling the vandalism as “domestic terror,” has vowed severe consequences.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced investigations into the funding and organisation behind these crimes, while Trump warned perpetrators of “serious repercussions.”
Despite the backlash, Tesla enthusiasts remain steadfast.
“I love my car,” said Theresa Ramsdell, president of the Tesla Owners of Washington State. “Hate on Elon and Trump all you want, but this doesn’t justify destroying property.”
The attacks highlight growing polarization over Musk’s dual role as Tesla CEO and Trump administration adviser, intensifying debates over corporate and political alliances in America’s charged climate.
