New Delhi: Samsung has commenced local manufacturing of its newly launched Galaxy S25 Edge, the company’s slimmest smartphone to date, at its Noida facility in India, a spokesperson confirmed on Thursday.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, officially unveiled on May 13 in global markets including India, is positioned as a high-performance yet ultra-slim device tailored for users seeking portability without compromising on functionality.
“This device is designed for those who want a sleek, easy-to-carry smartphone with top-tier performance,” said a Samsung representative.
“It features all the latest Galaxy AI capabilities, including multimodal AI, enabling real-time interaction through both voice and vision.”
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the S25 Edge is priced between Rs. 1.09 lakh and Rs. 1.22 lakh, targeting the premium smartphone segment.
According to data from Counterpoint Research, Samsung and Apple together accounted for 94% of all smartphones manufactured in India in 2024.
Samsung led production volume with a 20% share, underscoring its strong manufacturing footprint in the country.
Tech analyst Nikhil Chawla hailed the move, noting: “Samsung’s decision to manufacture the Galaxy S25 Edge in India highlights the country’s growing role as a global technology and innovation hub.”
The brand has also seen a notable uptick in its market performance.

In the first quarter of 2025, Samsung secured a 17% share in India’s smartphone market, driven by its expanding product portfolio.
The success of the Galaxy S25 Ultra further bolstered its position within the premium segment, achieving the brand’s highest share to date in that category.
The Galaxy S25 Edge marks a key addition to Samsung’s flagship S series, combining cutting-edge AI, slim design, and local manufacturing to appeal to India’s increasingly tech-savvy consumer base.
