GUWAHATI: In a commendable display of corporate responsibility and technological prowess, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. (Jio) extended critical support to users from other networks during the devastating Cyclone Remal, which recently wreaked havoc across various regions in Assam.

This initiative, through Intra Circle Roaming (ICR), ensured seamless connectivity and communication for millions of residents amid the natural disaster.

Cyclone Remal, which struck Assam last month, led to widespread disruptions, including power outages and significant damage to infrastructure, notably telecommunications networks.

In response, Jio swiftly activated its ICR arrangements, enabling users from other mobile networks to access Jio’s robust infrastructure.

This proactive measure ensured uninterrupted mobile and internet services, allowing affected individuals to stay connected with their loved ones and access essential emergency services.

Jio’s advanced network infrastructure, renowned for its extensive coverage and reliability, was instrumental in maintaining communication lines during the crisis.

The company’s tireless efforts to keep its network operational, even in the face of such adversity, exhibited its commitment to supporting the community and upholding connectivity as a critical service.

The local authorities and the general public have widely appreciated Jio’s efforts, highlighting the crucial role of collaboration and preparedness in disaster response.

Jio’s actions during Cyclone Remal highlight the importance of having resilient telecommunications infrastructure and the ability to extend support beyond its customer base in times of need.

Reliance Jio continues to demonstrate its commitment to leveraging technology and resources to support communities, ensuring that connectivity is never a barrier during emergencies.
