Guwahati: Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) has undertaken a large-scale campaign to educate and empower students across the Northeast telecom circle, covering Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.
The initiative has now successfully reached over 350 colleges and schools across these six states, significantly expanding its footprint and impact.
Senior executives from Jio conducted innovative and interactive sessions to introduce students to Google Gemini, Google’s most capable AI system, with a strong focus on practical, real-world applications. The sessions demonstrated how AI can be used for academic excellence, technical skill-building, creativity and collaborative learning. Students were guided on leveraging AI tools for writing assignments, coding, project ideation, design, interview preparation and problem-solving, helping them enhance both personal and professional capabilities.
In support of this mission, the Google Gemini Pro plan is available free to all active Jio Unlimited 5G users, offering an 18-month subscription valued at Rs 35,100 at no cost. This premium AI plan includes access to the latest Google Gemini 3 Pro model, advanced AI tools such as Nano Banana Pro for AI-assisted image creation, Veo 3.1 for video generation, NotebookLM for academic research, along with 2TB of cloud storage. Eligible users can seamlessly activate the plan via the MyJio app, gaining instant access to powerful AI-driven capabilities that boost learning and creativity.
As part of the outreach, students were offered Google Gemini 3 AI Pro completely free of cost, along with a special complimentary Jio SIM at just Re 1. The initiative also aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) focus on digital upskilling, enabling students to enrol in the JioAI Classroom Session and earn a skill certification from Jio Institute, further strengthening their academic credentials and employability.
By integrating cutting-edge AI technology with its expansive 5G network, Jio reiterates its commitment to bridging the digital divide in the North East and preparing young learners for the future digital economy. Through expert-led training and access to world-class AI tools, this expanded initiative is empowering students across the region to confidently transition into AI-ready professionals.
