Guwahati: The North East Telecom Circle has achieved a notable milestone in the adoption of 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), crossing the 65,000 subscriber mark as per the latest Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) report for June 2025.
The region added over 3,000 new FWA customers in a single month, taking the total subscriber base to 65,196 in June, up from 62,157 in May.
This steady growth is being driven by the strong response to JioAirFiber, which continues to transform digital access across the remote and hilly terrains of the Northeast. JioAirFiber enables homes, small businesses, and institutions to experience high-speed internet without the need for last-mile fiber infrastructure.
The North East telecom circle – covering Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura – is seeing fast progress in digital connectivity.
With the rise of 5G FWA, the region is moving past earlier challenges and making high-speed internet more accessible. People across these states are now better connected and able to enjoy the benefits of digital services in daily life.
