Reliance Jio has emerged as the fastest-growing telecom operator in the North East Telecom Circle, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for May 2025.

Jio added over 37,000 new wireless subscribers in May across the six Northeastern states — Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. This makes Jio the top contributor to mobile subscriber growth in the region during the month.

In comparison, the nearest competitor added only around 11,000 new subscribers. With more than three times the net additions, Jio has further strengthened its position in monthly subscriber growth. This reflects the growing trust that people in the region are placing in Jio’s strong network, affordable plans, and dependable service.

Jio added 8,742 new broadband users in the North East in May 2025, taking the total from 2.73 lakh to 2.82 lakh. This includes 2,032 new FWA users and 6,710 new wireline subscribers.

The growth shows increasing demand for fast and reliable internet across the region, with Jio expanding both wired and wireless services to reach more homes and areas with limited connectivity.

At the national level, Reliance Jio continues to lead as India’s number one telecom operator in terms of both mobile and broadband users. Jio is steadily expanding its 5G network across the country to make faster and better connectivity available to more people.

It is also growing its presence through JioFiber and JioAirFiber, delivering high-speed internet even in areas where traditional wired connections are limited.

With strong and consistent growth, Jio is helping bring the benefits of a truly Digital India to every corner of the region.
