HDFC Bank, one of India’s leading private-sector banks, is gearing up for the 16th edition of its nationwide Blood Donation Drive, part of the bank’s flagship CSR initiative, Parivartan. Scheduled for December 6, the drive will run from 9.30 aa to 5.30 pm across over 1,100 cities throughout India.
This year, HDFC Bank expects a larger participation compared to previous editions and aims to collect over 6 lakh units of blood. The event will involve HDFC Bank employees, customers, corporate partners, members of the defence forces, students, and general community members. The initiative highlights the bank’s strong commitment to community welfare and plays a vital role in addressing the ongoing blood supply challenges in India.
“At HDFC Bank, we believe in the transformative power of community-driven initiatives. Our 16th All-India Blood Donation Drive is a platform for citizens to make a meaningful contribution to society. Every drop of blood donated has the potential to save lives, and we remain committed to fostering a culture of giving,” said Kaizad Bharucha, Deputy Managing Director of HDFC Bank.
Bhavesh Zaveri, Executive Director of HDFC Bank, added, “Blood donation is not just an act of generosity—it is a lifeline for those in need. The dedication of our employees, who come together every year to organize this drive, exemplifies our commitment to building a healthier, stronger community. Every drop counts, and together, we can save lives.”
The blood donation drive has grown significantly since its inception in 2007. Initially, it started with 88 centres and collected just over 4,000 units of blood. By 2023, it expanded to 7,487 camps, collecting nearly 6 lakh units of blood. Last year alone, over 1,900 colleges, 700 corporates, and 100 defence personnel groups participated. The initiative set a Guinness World Record in 2013 for conducting the ‘Largest (single-day, multiple-venue) Blood Donation Drive.’
HDFC Bank partners with reputable blood banks and healthcare organizations to ensure the success of the drive. This year, the initiative will collaborate with government authorities and various NGOs to make a widespread impact across India.
The blood donation drive is open to individuals aged 18 to 60 who are in good health. Participants can walk into any of the participating camps to donate. A full list of locations is available on HDFC Bank’s website and other digital platforms.
Interested participants can visit any of the participating blood donation camps on December 6. A simple registration process will be followed to ensure the safety and well-being of all donors.
