Guwahati: The Federation of Industry & Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER) in association with NEDFi organized an interactive session with the MPs and ministers from Northeast India in New Delhi to push the region to a higher growth trajectory.
The interactive session was aimed to discuss the policy dispensation, need of attractive policies and investments in northeast India, the start-up ecosystem and other development imperatives required to catapult the region to a higher growth path.
Kiren Rijiju, minister for Law and Justice and chairman, North East MP Forum said he understands the growing need for new and better policy and how it can impact the growth and development of Northeast India.
Rijiju assured full commitment and support of the MP Forum to push for a better policy and other development agenda for Northeast India.
Rameswar Teli, minister of state, Petroleum & Natural Gas said the Centre has released the Hydrocarbon Vision Document 2030 for Northeast India with the aim of preparing a roadmap for the next 15 years to increase the production of oil and gas in the region.
Many MPs of Northeast India, cutting across party lines, were present at the interactive session. Biplab Deb, former CM of Tripura also put forward his suggestions.
Secretary Doner Lok Ranjan, Secretary Technology Development Board Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Rajendra Ratnoo, Joint Secretary, DPIIT were also present at the meeting sharing their views.
