A Delhi-to-Shillong SpiceJet flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport on Monday morning after encountering a technical glitch mid-flight.
The incident, which unfolded around 8:52 am, ended without any injuries or harm to the passengers or crew onboard, officials reported.
The flight, originally bound for Shillong, was diverted as a precautionary measure when the technical issue arose.
The captain alerted air traffic control, and emergency protocols were activated to ensure a safe landing.
Patna airport director Anchal Prakash addressed the situation, stating, “A Delhi-Shillong SpiceJet flight experienced a technical issue that necessitated its diversion to Patna. The aircraft landed safely at 8:52 am on Monday morning.”

Alternative arrangements are being made to facilitate the passengers’ onward journey.
Eyewitnesses at the airport commended the efficient handling of the situation, as the aircraft touched down without incident.
Emergency personnel and ground staff were on standby to assist, but their intervention was ultimately not required.
SpiceJet has since initiated measures to accommodate the stranded passengers, including providing alternative flights and other necessary support.
Maintenance teams are inspecting the aircraft to identify and address the cause of the technical glitch.
