Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a reduction in the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 51.50, effective September 1. After the revision, the cost of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has dropped to Rs. 1,580.
This marks the third consecutive price cut in recent months. In August, the price was reduced by Rs. 33.50, while July saw a larger reduction of Rs. 58.50.
No changes have been made to the price of domestic 14.2-kg LPG cylinders.
The latest revision is expected to bring relief to restaurants, hotels, and other businesses that depend on LPG for daily operations.
These price adjustments are part of OMCs’ monthly review process, which takes into account fluctuations in global crude oil rates and other market conditions.
Earlier this year, commercial cylinder prices were revised multiple times—June witnessed a Rs. 24 reduction, setting the price at Rs. 1,723.50, while in April, the rate stood at Rs. 1,762.
Minor changes in February and March saw a Rs. 7 decrease followed by a Rs. 6 increase, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet recently approved a targeted subsidy of Rs. 300 per 14.2-kg cylinder for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries.
The subsidy, applicable for up to nine refills annually (with proportional benefits for 5-kg cylinders), will continue through FY 2025-26 at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 12,000 crore.
Launched in May 2016, PMUY aims to provide deposit-free LPG connections to women from economically weaker households.
As of July 1, 2025, the scheme has covered around 10.33 crore households across India.
