New Delhi: Apple is set to register its strongest year in India yet, with iPhone shipments projected to touch between 14 and 15 million units in 2025, according to industry trackers.
The anticipated 20–25 per cent jump comes on the back of aggressive pricing, festive-season demand, and strong uptake of the newly launched iPhone 17 series.
Market research firms remain optimistic, with IDC pegging shipments at 15 million against last year’s 12 million, while Canalys expects 14.2 million units.
Counterpoint Research projects 18–19 per cent growth, which would lift Apple’s share of the Indian smartphone market to around 8 per cent.
India has already emerged as Apple’s fastest-growing market worldwide, outpacing China, where iPhone sales rose just 4.4 per cent in the June quarter after two years of decline.
Analysts say India will remain central to the company’s growth strategy, aided by heavy discounts on older models, EMI schemes, and Apple’s expanding retail footprint.
The iPhone 17, launched at Rs 82,900, comes with 256 GB storage as the new base model, replacing the earlier 128 GB variant.
At the same capacity, the new device is priced lower than the iPhone 16, which retailed at Rs 89,900.
Analysts say this repositioning, coupled with strong demand for Pro models and the newly introduced iPhone Air, will drive both volume and revenue.
Canalys estimates Apple’s domestic wholesale revenue could climb to Rs 1.08 lakh crore ($12.3 billion) in 2025, compared with Rs 98,717 crore ($11.2 billion) last year.

Rising sales of ecosystem products such as AirPods and Watches are also expected to deepen Apple’s revenue streams.
The company’s retail expansion continues apace, with new flagship stores in Bengaluru and Pune complementing its outlets in Mumbai and New Delhi.
The iPhone 16 was India’s best-selling premium smartphone in the first half of 2025, fuelling nearly 97 per cent growth in the high-end segment.
On the supply side, India is also playing a growing role in Apple’s global manufacturing strategy, with one in every five iPhones now assembled in the country.
