Guwahati: After a long wait, Mahindra & Mahindra launched the 5-door Thar in India with exciting features on the occasion of Independence Day.
The official name of this newly launched 5-door SUV is Mahindra Thar Roxx.
Mahindra is offering the bigger Thar with both petrol and diesel engines and with the option of both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) setups.
The starting price for the manual petrol base model of the new Thar is set at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the manual diesel base model starts at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 5-door Thar comes equipped with several upgrades compared to the 3-door version. It features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof, a first for the Thar series.
The new Thar has been designed to address the space and comfort issues prevalent in the older model.
The Thar Roxx also comes with ADAS Level 2 safety features and includes 9 high-performance speakers for an enhanced audio experience.
In addition, its features also include a fully digital instrument console, ventilated seats, Harman Kardon audio system, automatic climate control, and blind spot monitoring.
The Harman Kardon audio system, known for its premium sound quality, enhances the in-car entertainment experience.

The 5-door SUV is available in seven colors: Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Burnt Sienna, Battleship Grey, Nebula Blue, and Deep Forest.
It also features a modern digital display, providing drivers with quick and easy access to crucial information. The soft leather dashboard adds a touch of luxury to the cabin.
The bookings for Thar Roxx will start from October 3, while the delivery will start from Dussehra. From September 14, interested customers can take a test drive by visiting the showroom.
