Guwahati: The Judicial Commission probing the circumstances of the tragic death of renowned singer Zubeen Garg has granted an extension of 21 days for filing affidavits, with the new deadline now set for December 12.
The previous deadline of November 21 marked the end of the initial submission period. However, in response to multiple requests and the high volume of pending affidavits, the Commission approved the extension to ensure that all relevant individuals and stakeholders can participate fully.
The Commission was constituted to thoroughly investigate the events leading to Zubeen Garg’s sudden death and ascertain whether negligence, foul play or procedural lapses were involved.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has escalated its inquiry by sending two bags belonging to the late singer for forensic testing. Sources revealed that the bags—a trolley bag and a handbag—were seized from Garg’s Kahilipara residence during a search operation on Saturday. Authorities transferred both items from the CID office to a forensic laboratory for detailed examination.
