Guwahati: Video of an elephant searching parked Army vehicles in Assam for food has gone viral on the social media.
The video was tweeted by Guwahati-based journalist Karishma Hasnat, where she said the video was taken at the Narengi Cantonment, the headquarters of Indian Army’s 51 Sub-Area in Guwahati.
“Sneaky elephant searching an army truck for food — the Narengi herd is part of the military family here. Risky, but they’ve also been living together harmoniously,” the journalist tweeted.
The video was taken on Thursday night.

In fact, the Narengi Cantonment in Guwahati is next to the Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary, and herd of elephants are often seen aimlessly loiterng or in search for food in the high-security cantonment.
Often the herd of elephants appear at the golf course, visit Army Officers Mess, and even make occasional visit to the Army School in the cantonment.
