As part of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended an invitation to the people of Assam.
Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, during a roadshow in Dispur, Assam, described the Mahakumbh as a divine celebration of India’s unity in diversity.
Shahi called it an embodiment of the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat, Samaveshi Bharat” (One India, Great India, Inclusive India).
Scheduled from January 13 to February 26, the Mahakumbh will take place at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj.
Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Mahakumbh is expected to surpass previous editions in scale and grandeur.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized the event’s importance as a symbol of India’s cultural pride and unity on the global stage.
The state government is focusing on modern infrastructure, state-of-the-art facilities, and eco-friendly measures.
The event has been declared single-use plastic-free, with large-scale tree plantations and cleanliness campaigns involving local schools and communities being integral parts of the preparations.
Healthcare services are also being prioritized, with the establishment of specialized hospitals and 24/7 medical facilities for pilgrims, saints, and tourists.
These include 100-bed hospitals, ICUs, and separate wards for men, women, and children.
Embracing technological advancements, Mahakumbh 2025 will feature a dedicated app, AI-powered multilingual chatbots, QR-based passes, and drone surveillance to enhance the visitor experience.
A robust Integrated Control Command Centre will ensure safety and efficiency during the event.
Infrastructure enhancements include nine newly constructed ghats, complementing existing ones, and a 15-kilometer riverfront modelled after Mumbai’s Marine Drive.
Smart parking facilities, accommodating up to five lakh vehicles daily, have been expanded for better accessibility.
Advanced crowd management systems, including person attribute search cameras, RFID wristbands, and GPS-enabled mobile applications, will monitor the millions of attendees expected at the event.
State Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh highlighted the spiritual significance of the Mahakumbh, describing it as a proclamation of India’s unity in diversity.
“It is more than a ritual; it’s an eternal celebration of social harmony and cultural integration,” he said.
Guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to position Mahakumbh 2025 as a monumental event, inviting participation from across India and the world.
The government is calling on people to witness this unparalleled gathering in Prayagraj, celebrating the essence of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
