GUWAHATI: The Rehabari Bilpar Durga Puja Committee has unveiled its plans for the much-anticipated Durga Puja celebrations this year.

Scheduled to take place from October 8 to 12, the event promises to be a grand spectacle of devotion, culture, and community spirit.

The committee has been working tirelessly to make this year’s celebrations memorable.

The theme for the 2024 Puja is “Sanghati: Unity Through Tradition”, highlighting the importance of cultural cohesion and community solidarity. The theme will be reflected in the intricately designed pandal, which draws inspiration from traditional Assamese art and contemporary aesthetics.

Festivities will commence on October 8 with the ceremonial installation of the Goddess Durga. The main events, including the rituals and cultural performances, will take place throughout the five-day celebration.

Highlights include vibrant cultural performances, traditional dance recitals, and musical evenings featuring renowned artistes.

The committee has also planned special sessions for community engagement and educational workshops on the significance of Durga Puja.

In addition to the religious ceremonies, there will be a variety of food stalls, offering an array of traditional Assamese cuisine.

The committee has emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety to ensure a pleasant experience for all attendees.

“We are excited to present this year’s Durga Puja with a focus on unity and cultural pride,” said a spokesperson for the Rehabari Bilpar Durga Puja Committee.

“Our aim is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can come together to celebrate our rich traditions,” he said.

The committee has also been working closely with local authorities to ensure smooth traffic management and security arrangements during the festivities.
