GUWAHATI: Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, inaugurated the ONGC-supported Siu-Ka-Pha Multi-Speciality Hospital in Sivasagar on Saturday.

Addressing the public during the inauguration, Minister Puri highlighted the hospital’s modern infrastructure and advanced medical equipment, noting that it ranks among the best in the entire country.

He highlighted that the Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital’s reach would extend beyond Upper Assam, benefiting residents from neighbouring states such as Nagaland, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh.

“Driven by PM Modi’s commitment to the Northeast, government and public enterprises like ONGC are committed to improving lives in the Northeast. In the coming years, Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital is expected to benefit approximately one lakh patients annually,” he declared.

The state-of-the-art healthcare facility, built with a total investment of Rs 483.19 crore, represents a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility and services in Assam and neighbouring states.

The event also witnessed the presence of Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Labour and Employment, Rameshwar Teli, Chairman and CEO of ONGC, Arun Kumar Singh, and other senior officials from the Government of Assam and ONGC.

Minister Teli underscored the significance of Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital, built as one of ONGC’s most substantial Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He lauded the hospital’s advanced healthcare services and expressed his belief in its potential to benefit the region in multiple ways.

The Siu-Ka-Pha Multi-Speciality Hospital spans over 35 acres and boasts 350 beds, a team of 70 specialised doctors, and a comprehensive range of medical services, including Orthopaedics, Trauma, Paediatric & NICU, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, ENT, Skull base Surgery, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, and advanced diagnostics.

The facility features modular operating theatres, a critical care unit, and telemedicine services, connecting patients with specialist healthcare providers nationwide.

In addition to its primary healthcare role, the ONGC Siu-Ka-Pha Multi-Speciality Hospital is expected to be a catalyst for job creation and economic opportunities in the region.
