New Delhi: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday hosted Assam’s champion pugilist Lovlina Borgohain for tea post her return at his official residence from the Summer Olympics in Paris.
The union minister greeted Borgohain and commended her spirited fight in the quarterfinals of the 75 kg category at the recent Olympics.
Sonowal expressed confidence in the talent, skill, and ability of Lovlina Borgohain for stellar performance in the ensuing competition on the global stage.
Speaking to Lovlina Borgohain, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Work hard with unwavering spirit and focus, and I have no doubt that you will win laurels for the country and medal in the next Olympics.”
He said, “What you have done so far has been a tale of inspiration for the youth of this country and especially those from Assam. Sports allow us to fail so that we can pick ourselves up and get back in the game.”
