Agartala/Guwahati: The governments of Tripura and Assam have announced financial assistance of Rs. 5 crore each to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-ravaged Himachal Pradesh.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Saturday that his government would contribute the amount to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
He also confirmed that he had spoken to Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to convey solidarity with the people of the state.
“The devastating floods have caused severe damage in Himachal Pradesh. My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. On behalf of the people of Tripura, we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters. To support the relief efforts, we are contributing Rs. 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,” Saha posted on Facebook.

Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced that his state would provide Rs. 5 crore towards relief measures in Himachal. “The recent floods have resulted in a tragic loss of lives and property. On behalf of the people of Assam, we are contributing Rs. 5 crore to aid relief and rehabilitation,” Sarma said on X.
Since June 20, Himachal Pradesh has been battered by extreme weather events, including 133 major landslides, 95 flash floods, and 45 cloudbursts, which have claimed lives and destroyed infrastructure across multiple districts.
Relief operations are continuing in the affected areas.
