This year too, the Blood Donation Camp was organised on August 8 in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Chapter, in Guwahati.

The Blood Donation camp was inaugurated by Chairman Kailash Chandra Lohia in the presence of Bajrang Lohia, Director, and Dr. Anil Kapur, Senior President, Sales & Marketing, Meghalaya Cements Ltd.

Dr. Dipankar Baruah, In-charge GMCH Blood Bank; Deba Prasad Sarma, General Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Assam State Branch; Laba Kumar Sarma, State Manager, Indian Red Cross society, Assam State Branch and other senior management personals of Lohia Group were present at the camp held at the office premises of Topcem Cement, at Mega Plaza, G.S. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anil Kapur said, “It’s an honour for us that the Indian Red Cross Society has accepted our request to associate with us for this blood donation participation and we look forward to more such association with us in the near future.”

The Voluntary Blood Donation Camp saw enthusiastic participation from a complete cross-section of employees of Topcem Cement, their partners and associates, along with volunteers from Lohia Group of Companies, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to humanitarian causes and the importance of voluntary blood donation.

Participants were first screened by the doctors and medically eligible candidates were allowed to donate. By the end of the day, the number of units collected was more than 25 at the Blood Donation Camp.

This initiative aligns with Topcem Cement’s larger goal of driving impactful social change by addressing critical public health needs. Topcem Cement remains committed to future endeavours, contributing to the betterment of society.
