GUWAHATI: Topcem Cement, in association with Guwahati Scooter Motorcycle Garage Owners Association (GSMGOA), organised the ‘Old Sri Sri Biswakarma Idol Biswarjan Avijan’ on Thursday in Guwahati.
This annual initiative aims to promote cleanliness in the city by collecting and immersing leftover Lord Biswakarma idols.
Since 2014, Topcem Cement and GSMGOA have jointly conducted this activity, demonstrating their dedication to social responsibility.
Dr. Anil Kapur, President – Sales & Marketing of Meghalaya Cements Ltd., flagged off the event, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness.
“Cleanliness is vital for our daily lives. We are committed to continuing this initiative,” Kapur said.
Last year’s event saw the collection of over 1,000 idols from various localities in Guwahati.
Gautam Pathak, president of GSMGOA, expressed gratitude for Topcem Cement‘s support and looked forward to future collaborations.
“We appreciate Topcem Cement’s support and look forward to future associations,” said Pathak.
Biswakarma Puja honours Lord Biswakarma, the divine architect of the universe. This festival is predominantly celebrated in industrial areas, techno-commercial establishments and factories. Topcem Cement recognizes the importance of cleanliness and community well-being.
