Topcem Cement has extended a helping hand to nearly 500 underprivileged students by distributing essential school stationery across 13 institutions in Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts.

As part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Topcem Cement provided critical learning tools such as notebooks, pens, pencils, sharpeners, and erasers.

Beneficiary institutions included Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan, Seven Sisters Home, UTSAH Education Center, Jalukbari Higher Secondary School, and others.

In total, the company distributed around 9,000 pencils, 6,000 pens, 1,100 notebooks, and 9,000 sharpeners and erasers.

The supplies were handed over by Dr. Anil Kapur, Senior President, Sales & Marketing of Meghalaya Cements Ltd., during a ceremony attended by representatives from participating institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kapur emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental right.

“Every child deserves access to education, and no one should face barriers due to a lack of resources,” he said.

This initiative, which began in 2021, reflects Topcem Cement’s unwavering commitment to fostering education and empowering disadvantaged children.

Beyond providing materials, the company strives to inspire compassion, responsibility, and a culture of learning among students.

Topcem Cement’s efforts underscore the role of corporate responsibility in bridging educational gaps and shaping a brighter future for underprivileged communities in the region.
