GUWAHATI: Assam down town University (AdtU) witnessed a enriching experience as it played host to the illustrious founder of SPIC MACAY, Dr Kiran Seth, in an event that unfolded on its premises on Thursday.

Dr Seth’s visit became a landmark occasion, weaving engaging and inspirational moments that resonated with the university community.

The day began with a symbolic tribute near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, where the septuagenarian, accompanied by his team and Prof Bandana Dutta, Dean of Studies, AdtU, captured timeless memories.

The gesture embodied the values of peace and unity, setting the tone for an event focused on cultural enrichment.

Officials from both SPIC MACAY and AdtU shared their perspectives and visions for fostering cultural vibrancy and strengthening educational collaborations.

The university community came together to extend a warm welcome to Dr Seth, culminating in a felicitation ceremony graced by Vice Chancellor Dr NC Talukdar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Pranveer Singh, and Dean of Studies Prof. Bandana Dutta.

Dr Seth was honoured with a memento and phulam gamusa, symbolising deep admiration and gratitude for his exemplary contributions.

The programme seamlessly transitioned into a soulful rendition of a bhajan by faculty members of Performing Arts, creating a serene ambiance that resonated with the spiritual essence of the occasion.

Dr. Seth’s address struck a chord as he highlighted the significance of sustainability, environmental conservation, wellness, patience, concentration, meditation, classical music, and art in shaping a holistic student life.

An interactive session followed, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and enriching the audience’s understanding.

The event concluded with a gracious vote of thanks from Vice Chancellor Talukdar, expressing gratitude to the entire SPIC MACAY team for their impactful presence.

Dr Seth’s visit to AdtU emerged as a catalyst for cultural enrichment and educational enlightenment, leaving an indelible mark on the collective spirit of university community.
