GUWAHATI: In response to the increasing temperatures, some districts across Assam, including Kamrup Metro, have advanced school timings.
In Kamrup Metro district, the District Elementary Education Officer on Friday issued a circular, mandating all schools to implement measures to mitigate the impact of the heat wave.
Starting from September 21, 2024, schools will be required to adjust their daily schedules, beginning classes at 7:30 AM and concluding before or at 12:30 PM.
This adjustment aims to reduce students’ exposure to extreme heat during the peak hours of the day.
Schools have been instructed to hold morning assemblies indoors, provide ample drinking water facilities, and encourage students to dress comfortably to ensure students’ well-being.
