GUWAHATI: The city is gearing up for the much-anticipated Guwahati Half Marathon, organised by IIT Guwahati’s Techniche, to held on April 7.
With a strong emphasis on promoting cleanliness and social responsibility, this year’s marathon, “Run for a Cleaner Tomorrow” aims to inspire positive change in the community.
The event is set to kick off at 5:15 am from the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium, Sarusajai, Guwahati and conclude at 8:45 am, promising participants a refreshing morning run experience.
This year, the event will feature two categories – a 6km run, free for all participants, and a 21km run with a registration fee of Rs 520.
Renowned athlete Duti Chand has been roped in as the brand ambassador for the Guwahati Half Marathon, while star runner Shweta Himatsingika will bring her expertise and enthusiasm to the track.
Runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join, contributing to a healthier and cleaner city.
The chosen theme, highlights the urgent need to address cleanliness and sanitation issues in Guwahati.
