Among the major recruiters in the initial phases of placements, prominent names include industry giants such as Google, Microsoft, Bajaj, HPCL, Navi, Piramal, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments, reflecting the diversity of opportunities available to the students.
Phase 1 of the placement process is set to continue until December 15 at the institution. In the ongoing academic year (2023-24), a total of 1491 students across various study streams have registered for placements.
With an impressive participation rate, 262 companies are registered for Phase 1 placements, offering positions across approximately 422 profiles.
Notably, over 50 startups and seven Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are also part of the recruitment drive.
Expressing satisfaction with this year’s placement drive, Prof. Lalit Mohan Pandey, Head of the Centre for Career Development at IIT Guwahati, told the press that IIT Guwahati has defied global recession by maintaining steady placement statistics.
“Through rigorous training, our students have adeptly grasped the intricacies of companies’ requirements, equipping themselves to effectively meet these demands. This process is assisting in fostering a comprehensive understanding on the part of both the employer and potential employee,” he was quoted as saying.
