GUWAHATI: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, Guwahati, wrapped up a successful 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-02 at the Narangi Transit Facility (NTF) in Guwahati, on Thursday.
The CATC, that serves as a platform for fostering camaraderie, and enhancing skills for cadets hailing in and around Guwahati, witnessed a participation of 482 Senior Division/Senior Wing (SD/SW) and Junior Wing/Junior Division (JW/JD) cadets, alongside six Associate NCC Officers (ANOs).
The curriculum of the camp, organised under the aegis of NCC headquarters, Guwahati, and NCC Directorate North East Region (NER), Shillong, was designed to sharpen cadets’ skills across various domains.

The 10-day period focused on range drill, firing and training through community living, discipline, first-aid and character building.
Additionally, guest lectures were delivered by representatives from NDRF, NEDFi, SBI Bank, and the Exchange Participants’ Association (EXPA), covering topics such as soft skills, IAF recruitment, special forces and CPR with insights into the Indian Army.
Each day of the camp was packed with rigorous training activities and competitions including drill, map reading, firing practice, tent pitching, tug-of-war, volleyball, debate and painting.
On Thursday, the winners were felicitated and the camp concluded with a cultural programme organised around a campfire, fostering bonds and celebrating their achievements.
Addressing the cadets during the closing ceremony, Camp Commandant Col. Ajay Kumar Sharma lauded their triumph in the CATC, highlighting the values of discipline, physical fitness, leadership, and camaraderie instilled by the NCC.
He encouraged the cadets to uphold these values and serve as ambassadors of the NCC, motivating others to explore the opportunities offered by the organization and embrace the Army way of life.
