GUWAHATI: The Narayan Seva Sansthan, known for its service to the disabled and humanity across the globe, will organize a free ‘Narayan Limb and Calipers Fitment Camp’ for the differently-abled persons in Assam on August 25.

This large-scale camp will be held at Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Dharmasthal in Guwahati from 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

Director Trustee of the Sansthan, Devendra Chaubisa shared that Narayan Seva Sansthan has been striving to benefit the disabled in various states for the past 39 years, by reaching out to them near their hometowns.

In this series, the Sansthan organized a free Narayan Limb Measurement Camp in Guwahati on May 12, where over 450 patients attended.

Out of these, 295 individuals had lost limbs due to road accidents or other mishaps, rendering them disabled. The institution selected these individuals and took measurements for the Narayan Limb.

He said that for the first time in Assam, the Sansthan will provide Narayan Limbs to over 300 disabled individuals, giving them a new lease on life.

These individuals, due to their disabilities, had become a burden on their families and loved ones, but the institution is now working to make them self-reliant and reintegrate them into the mainstream society, he added.

Camp coordinator and in-charge, Achal Singh Bhati emphasized the institution’s commitment to bringing the disabled into mainstream society. He affirmed their readiness to always support the disabled in Assam.

For this camp, over 25 local organizations, including Digambar Jain Panchayat, Marwari Youth Forum of Northeast, have come together for voluntary service.

Hundreds of donors, including social workers and administrative officials from Guwahati, have been invited to witness the camp. The institution will also provide free meals for the disabled attending the camp.

Public Relations Officer of Sansthan Bhagwan Prasad Gaur said that after the Narayan Limb fitment, the disabled individuals would receive systematic training in walking.

A 30-member team from the institution will be actively involved in these services.

The institution has organized similar camps abroad in Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda, where more than 3,000 people have been fitted with limbs.

Since 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has been working with the ethos of ‘Serving Humanity is Serving the Divine’ (Nar Seva, Narayan Seva).

The founder, Kailash Manav, was honored with the Padma Shri award by the President of India for his exemplary service to humanity.

Under the leadership of President Prashant Agarwal, Sansthan has strengthened millions of differently-abled individuals mentally, physically, and financially through medical, educational, skill development, and sports academies, integrating them into mainstream society.

The Sansthan has facilitated over 45,200 artificial limb fittings to date and is committed to providing free artificial limbs to differently-abled individuals in Assam, aiming to restart their stalled lives on a significant scale.
