GUWAHATI: After six days of dynamic activities celebrating women’s empowerment, the vibrant Nai Roshini Scheme festivities concluded in Guwahati on Saturday.
Organised by the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC under NCC Group HQ Guwahati and NCC Directorate NER, Shillong, the event featured an array of activities aimed at empowering women and girls through education and awareness.
Over the week, around 1,200 NCC cadets from 13 schools and colleges, engaged in a multitude of activities, including lectures, workshops, rallies, street plays, and webinars in and around the city.
The topics covered ranged from health and hygiene, legal rights of women, financial and digital literacy, to life skills and advocacy for social and behavioural changes.
Prominent speakers from various fields, along with Associate NCC Officers and Care Taker Officers (ANOs/CTOs), delivered lectures highlighting the critical role of women’s empowerment in modern society.
Workshops provided hands-on training in essential skills such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and self-defence, equipping participants with practical tools for their empowerment journey.
Colourful rallies filled the streets of Guwahati, with participants carrying banners and chanting slogans highlighting women’s rights and the need for societal change.
These rallies served as a powerful medium to spread the message of empowerment to the broader community.
Webinars covered a range of topics relevant to women’s empowerment, from health and education to legal rights and career opportunities.
Two NCC cadets from 29 institutes attended the webinars conducted by the Administrative Officer of the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, Guwahati.
Street plays depicted real-life scenarios of women’s struggles and triumphs, resonating deeply with the audience and sparking discussions on gender equality and women’s rights.
