Guwahati: The Dr. Anamika Ray Memorial Trust (ARMT) has announced the results of the Dr Anamika Ray SHARE (Science, Health, Agriculture, Risk, and Environment) Communication Research Award 2025, honouring young scholars for their outstanding research in the vital field of communication.
This year’s award has been conferred on P. C. Lalvenhimi of Mizoram University for her research on Online Environmental Activism in Mizoram (With Special Reference to Save the Riparian Movement) and Darshana Baruah of Gauhati University for her study on Superstition-Based Content in Podcast Channels with Special Reference to Assam.
Both winners will receive a cash award, certificate, and books. In addition, Merit Certificates have been awarded to Nikita Singh of Central University of Jharkhand for her Survey on Climate Change Awareness and Disaster Resilience Among the Youth of Jharkhand.
Merit Certificates have been awarded to Gauhati University’s Jugasmita Das for her research on Social Media as a Tool for Agricultural Extension: A Case Study on Farmer Engagement and Knowledge Dissemination.
The merit awardees will receive a certificate and books. This year, students from about 10 universities across India applied for the award, reflecting its growing recognition.
In 2024, the award was presented to students from the Central University of Jharkhand and the Central University of Punjab.
This year, the Jury was constituted with an internal member Dr Badan Barman and an external member Prof. Manoj Kumar Patairiya, former head of the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST, Government of India.
The Dr Anamika Ray SHARE Communication Research Award was instituted to encourage young researchers in bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and community awareness, thereby promoting informed decision-making and inclusive growth.
The award is open to postgraduate students across disciplines whose dissertation or thesis work focuses on SHARE Communication. Applications for the 2025 edition were invited until June 25, 2025, with submissions requiring institutional endorsements and supervisor recommendations.
