GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s second year in office has been encapsulated in two insightful books, Mukhya Mantrir Diary 2 and Mukhya Mantrir Boktrita Sankalan 2.

Released by Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, the books offer an intimate glimpse into the daily challenges, strategic decisions, and pivotal speeches that defined Sarma’s tenure.

The first book, Mukhya Mantrir Diary 2, authored by Chief Minister Sarma himself, serves as a comprehensive record of the nuances and intricacies of his daily engagements.

It provides readers with an insider’s perspective on the challenges encountered, decisions taken, and the overall dynamism inherent in the functioning of the Chief Minister’s Office.

The second book, Mukhya Mantrir Boktrita Sankalan 2, is a compilation of 65 select speeches delivered by Chief Minister Sarma on various occasions throughout his second year in office.

These speeches address core issues and reflect the government’s principles and priorities.

During the book release ceremony, Governor Kataria stressed on the importance of these books as valuable records for posterity.

He noted that the books would offer readers insights into government administration and the intricate workings of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Kataria added that they would serve as a historical record, documenting the promises made and fulfilled by the government.

Chief Minister Sarma expressed hope that the books would become essential resources for future generations.

He highlighted the significance of compiling his speeches, stating that they represent the government’s principles and priorities.

Sarma explained that while the diary encompassing his daily accounts as the Chief Minister has been published, it is not exhaustive due to the necessary secrecy in the functioning of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Addressing the transparency in the use of the royalties from the sale of the first part of the diary, Sarma revealed that the funds were directed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
